Today´s destination is Київ (Kyiv). The playlist is called PowerDnB.

 

 

Kyiv is one of the oldest cities in eastern Europe. Situated in the heart of Ukraine on the shores of Dniepr River. The venue is (as far as I can tell) a military academy. A place of order and discipline. The music is DnB. It calls for chaos and disobedience. The music brings up memories of crazy nights on the town. Those vodka infused late nights – if you were at the Euro2012 this summer, you will know what I am talking about.

 

The music is also a good soundtrack if you are a bit stressed at work, it increases your work tempo and gets you a bit stressed (in a good way).

I wanted to be there, but alas, I did not have the time. What to do, what to do? I will travel in my imagination. I will not leave the office, but with this as a soundtrack (and with my eyes closed) and can almost feel what it would be like to be in Austin today.

When we give presentations of Tunaspot, we often start with stating that ”music is memories and memories are connected to a certain place”. This is a perfect example. This music gives me a strange memory of feeling teenage anxiety – warm and uncomfortable at the same time – and it is dropped at a bus stop outside of a health center in rural Sweden.

Now is the time of the to announce the winners. We teamed up with UrbanEars and Spotify and created a DJ competition. The prizes that could be won was 3 month free Spotify Premium and the awesome Urbanears headphones Zinken.

 

 

As explained in the rules of the competition there are two winners in our competition. There was one category for the person who got the most subscriptions and one category for the best playlist for a particular venue.

D4niels4n won in the category for the most popular playlist, Music for the Emotionally Challenged Part II, dropped at Karlberg.

 

 

The prize for the best playlist for a particular venue goes to *drumroll* Gudding for the playlist ”Moody deep & tech” dropped at Lilla Hotellbaren. The description to the playlist made us laugh. Description: ”Bringing some moody deep & tech to Söder. Why? Because people at söder might be bored with indie, let´s give them something groovy!”

 

 

Our motivation for why we really liked gudding’s contribution for the competitions is: Firstly, the playlist is well composed. Secondly, the playlist matches the place. There is a club at this hotel. The music that is in the playlist is consistent with the music that is normally played in the club. Thirdly, and most importantly, we loved the description. So congratualtions to D4niels4n and gudding – you will receive a pair of Urbanears Zinken and 3 months Spotify premium by mail.
